The hand motif was a classic expression of the Roman revival in Europe, popular from the 1820’s to the 1850’s , carrying symbolic overtones of love and friendship. The use of the hand motifs has been evident in the use of Jewellery since the medieval times & can also be found in the use of old Indian jewellery circa 1853.

9.70 carat of high blue topaz stone; gold plated on silver.
